Recently one of our clients required a unique solution in order to help digitize a currently extremely cumbersome, offline, paper-driven and manual process. The need was to provide an all in one spot for work order management but, the unique part, they also needed to have barcodes to drive their machinery. The final solution was to leverage some unique functionality within JD Edwards Form Design Aid called a Text Block Control. With this control, a custom Power Form application (built in the native JD Edwards toolset) and a web service sitting on the existing web servers, we created a solution that knocked this out of the park.
