JD Edwards E1 9.2 Upgrade

JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Applications and Tools Release 9.2. upgrade overview

Everyone’s doing it

Oracle has made it pretty clear to the user community that they want everyone to upgrade to 9.2. and the latest tools release. They have made it attractive to do so by packing it full of new improved business and technical capabilities to help your business grow and adapt. Oracle has stated that moving forward all future enhancements will be smaller, so in theory this should be the last major release your company will have to undertake. Let’s face it, there is risk too, if you are on a release prior to 9.0 as it might be difficult or impossible to apply security updates.

What’s new?

In general, there is a large focus on the internet of things and Orchestrator, increased mobile applications, industry specific features as well as streamlined upgrade options.

To be a bit more specific expect these enhancements on the technical side; A complete redesign of Orchestrator Studio, UX One, User Defined Objects (UDO’s), one-click provisioning, personalization, extensibility, 64-bit processing, continuous delivery, simplified upgrade process, digital transformation, user experience, operational simplification, and new platform certifications.

On the functional side; new application enhancements have been made to Financials, HCM, Manufacturing, Order Management, Localization updates and a whole lot more.

The user experience just keeps getting better as each upgrade comes our way.  It is easier for users to get their hands on the data they want in a format that is easier to use.  For the citizen developer there is more customizations that can be done and things have become more intuitive. This should allow for cost savings as businesses bring more of their JDE tweaks in house.

What now?

There is only one way to take advantage of the new features and get on the most capable version of JDE and that is to upgrade.   Upgrades are part of our daily life at CORE, and 9.2 is no exception.  We have helped almost all of our clients move to 9.2 over the last few years.  We would love to help you and your company move to 9.2. so please contact us to discuss your upgrade.
